Installing a Hardwood Timber Roof Lantern

Here are a series of photos showing a hardwood timber roof lantern being assembled and fitted onto a preformed up-stand.

Construct the main base frame using a suitable glue with the connector bolts and wooden biscuits supplied.

The frame can then be fixed down to the up-stand onto a bed of mastic.

Ensure the frame is square and level with an even overhang on all internal sides.

When all the double glazed units are in place you can fix down the Exitex aluminum capping starting with the ridge.

Continue to fix down the rest of the capping starting with the two end rafters then all the hips, finishing with the center rafters.

The screw caps can then be tapped into place with a rubber mallet on each of the rafter caps and the main ridge section.
